These terms are between you and Rajveer, Mumbai, India ("we", "us"), the maker of the Amchi Local app. The first time you open the app it asks you to agree to them and to the Privacy Policy; by using the app you agree to both.
1. What Amchi Local is — and isn't
- A journey planner for Mumbai's suburban railway: trains, times, platforms, changes and exits, working offline.
- Independent. Not affiliated with, endorsed by or run by Indian Railways, Central Railway, Western Railway, CRIS, IRCTC or any government body. Railway names are used only to describe the service.
- Not a ticketing app and not an official source.
2. Times can be wrong — check the station
- Timetables, platforms, exit sides and notices come from published schedules and our own work. Trains are cancelled, delayed, diverted or moved to other platforms without notice, and the timetable in the app may be out of date.
- Always check station announcements, indicator boards and official railway notices. Leave a margin for anything time-critical — exams, flights, hospital visits.
- We don't promise the app is accurate, complete, available or free of errors.
3. Safety
Don't use the app in a way that puts you or others at risk — not while boarding or getting off, near the platform edge or on the track. Follow railway staff and the rules of the Railways Act, 1989.
4. What you send us
Reports and feedback must be honest and must not contain other people's personal details, or anything unlawful, obscene, defamatory or hateful. You let us use what you send to fix and improve Amchi Local. See the Privacy Policy for what else the app sends (anonymous usage counts, which you can switch off).
5. What you must not do
- extract, copy, scrape, resell or republish the app's routes, route network, timetable or data — in bulk or piece by piece, by hand or with any tool or AI model;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or analyse the app to learn how its routes are built or ranked, or rebuild them in another product;
- tamper with or overload the app or our servers, or use the app's key or server outside the app;
- send false reports or fake usage;
- use Amchi Local for anything unlawful.
We may block traffic that breaks these terms.
6. Changes and availability
We may change, pause or stop any part of the app, its timetable or these terms. When a change matters we tell you in the app. Using the app after a change means you accept it.
7. Liability
- Amchi Local is free and provided "as is".
- As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any loss from using or relying on it — including a missed train, connection, exam, appointment or flight, or any indirect loss.
- Nothing here limits a liability that Indian law does not allow to be limited.
8. Ownership
The app, its design, code and text belong to us — and above all its routes: for every pair of stations, the ways to travel between them that we have worked out, selected and ranked (for example, Ghatkopar → Vashi: a Central line train to Kurla, then a Harbour line train to Vashi), with where to change, the order routes are offered in, and the platform, exit and ATVM guidance that comes with them. Their selection and arrangement is our work. You may use the app on your own devices for your own travel; nothing else is licensed. The full statement is our Proprietary Notice. Railway names and marks belong to their owners.
9. Law
Indian law applies. Courts at Mumbai have jurisdiction. Before going to court, please write to [email protected] — we try to resolve complaints within 15 days.
